💛 Our Story – The Heart Behind Skeppend SA Pty Ltd
We’re Christelle and Chantell — two friends who met in high school and have been dreaming, laughing, and creating together ever since.
In the middle of the uncertainty that came with 2020, we felt a calling to do something meaningful: to create space and opportunity for local artisans to share their talents. What began as the Stellenbosch Market quickly grew into something much deeper — and soon became SKEPPEND, an Afrikaans word that means to create.
And that’s exactly what we’ve been doing ever since.
At Skeppend, we create beautiful products, create opportunity for small business owners, create friendships, and create community — all rooted in love, purpose, and faith.
What started as a humble dream during lockdown has now grown into a movement.
Over the years, Skeppend SA has expanded into new venues, joined forces with other businesses and events, and built a loyal network of talented vendors who have been with us since day one. New collaborations are also on the horizon — and we can’t wait to share more soon.
This journey has never just been about the two of us. Our children have grown up with Skeppend, learning valuable skills and playing important roles — with Carla Kriel now proudly serving as our secretary. And our incredible husbands, Johan and Gideon, have been our quiet strength and tireless supporters since day one. (Even if they didn’t exactly sign up for the job!)
Through it all, our faith has guided every step. We believe that when God creates something, there is no stopping His plan — and Skeppend is proof of that.
